We try to stay at this hotel or the Marriott Courtyard in Fairfax every timewe visit DC. As usual, the rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff friendly, and the location convenient. I am sure we will be back.

I was charged $* a night for a tired standard king room. The hotel is tired and worn. The hors dourves in the concierge lounge were hot dogs. No, I'm not kidding. I felt extremely ripped off.
Room not ready until after 9pm!10/22/2010
4pm check-in? ha! tried an early checking around 2pm and was told the room wasn't ready, however, they were eager to scan my credit card for any incidentals ...
4pm check-in? Ha! Tried an early checking around 2pm and was told the room wasn't ready, however, they were eager to scan my credit card for any incidentals I may incur while on their property. I was told their check-in policy is 4pm, which is totally understandable, and that I could just stop by the front desk and pick up my key after 4pm since they had scanned my credit card info. We spent the day in DC and wanted to come back to the hotel, check in, take a shower and change clothes for dinner. I show up at the front desk around 6:30pm to pick up my key. Surprise, surprise....the room is STILL not ready and will NOT BE READY until sometime after 8pm at the EARLIEST! We were offered the fitness/pool showers and locker room to get ready for dinner. Wow...what a great way to relax....NOT! We skipped the "nice" dinner we had planned and went to a local casual spot and waited for a call on my cell from the front desk saying our room was ready. 9:30pm....yup....that's when we were allowed into a room....and it wasn't even the bed configuration we had asked for. Had to wait AGAIN for them to assign another room and get a set of keys to us. Manager on duty was less than cordial and much less than understanding. Pre-paid and discounted room reservations go to the absolute BOTTOM of the list I'm convinced. I was told they have flight crews from Dulles who contract with the Marriott for rooms and that their check-in/check-out schedule is COMPLETELY different from everyone else, thus causing a potential 5 1/2 hour delay for in-coming guests. Nice "Customer Service" focused operational model, huh? This Marriott is COMPLETELY off my future-use list.

My husband and I drove to Va, for gun show in Chantilly, down the road a bit from the hotel. Great location for me to shop while he attended the show. After dinner we went to indoor pool (small but nice) and used hot tub. Then went back downstairs to very nice bar for nightcap. Hotel also close to Mt.Vernon which - we visited the second day. Very quiet and clean, staff friendly and helpful. Would stay again.
