Our flight had been delayed so the airline arranged for us to stay at this hotel. We were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness, functionality and modern touches of this hotel. The beds were large & comfortable and we loved the creative layout of the room. I would highly recommend staying here if you need a room for a night or long weekend. Very close to the airport as well!!

We had a great time at Aloft... it was BEAUTIFUL inside and was the nicest hotel i have ever stayed in... we had 2 queen size beds, a large tv mounted on the wall with hook ups for dvd player or other electronics... the room was very large with tons of room for my 2 boys under 7 to play. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Life guard at the pool at all times. Can't wait to stay there again.

  • Unprofessional at best.

I am an volunteer fireperson in my home town. While staying at this hotel we were awakened by a fire alarm. At no time during this alarm did I see a single person make an attempt to communicate with the guests. There was no one sweeping the floors to make sure that all of the guests were out There was no announcement made on a speaker. There was no one in the stairway to make sure that we left by the right door. There was no one to meet us outside and lead us to a safe place. There were about thirty guests outside but I saw three doors open and shut on my floor as these guests decided that it was okay to stay inside. All of the employees were inside the hotel. We could see the bartender making drinks at the bar! The rest of the employees were standing around the front desk. No one came outside to tell us what was happening. The firemen arrived and then a very harried employee arrived with a bundle of keys. We all assumed that this person was the one everyone was waiting for. After another fifteen minute wait with no communication from the 'staff'', we saw the firemen leave and assumed it was okay to go back to our rooms No one ever came out to talk to us or apologize. The next morning I asked and was told that it was a false alarm. Aren't there procedures that are followed no matter if it is a false alarm or not????? If anyone wanted to harm us all they had to do was watch the staff here to know that they couldn't care less about the guests' safety. Add to this the worst service ever & you've got Aloft.

My wife and I recently stayed at this property while we were in town searching for an apartment. I booked the hotel because of its proximity to the city and relatively low price. It also looked pretty cool with its modern design and new construction. Anyway, it didn't really live up to the hype. I have to give them credit where it's due. It is new and it is modern. There's a little bar in the lobby and they have a small area where you can purchase snacks and other items. Quite convenient. Above that, it is certainly not meant for long-term stays. We had planned on a five night stay. Way more than one should stay at the Aloft. Now the not so good. The music in the lobby is way too loud. And it is always on. For non-morning people like me, this is very annoying. Fortunately, our room was on the 6th floor so it wasn't an issue. The staff was friendly, but their use of the word "aloha" every time they see you can grate on the nerves after the second or third time. The elevators are unbearably slow. We had a king bed room. There isn't much in the way of comfort . There is a flat screen TV, small desk, and strange sliding door into the bathroom that doesn't offer much privacy. After we finished our coffee the first day, it was never replaced. There are no drawers for your things, only a small network of cubbies and space for about 6 hangers. There was also no ice machine on the floor. The bottom line. The Aloft is low on frills and doesn't offer many of the amenities of a more traditional hotels. Keep your stay short and you won't be too disappointed.

The hotel was clean and in great shape since it is relatively new. Due to its trendy, modern style, the room felt "cold" to me. I was not excited to return to my room at the end of a long day. I have also had a terrible experience with customer service at this hotel. The front desk staff erroneously billed me. I have attempted to speak with someone at the hotel numerous times, and have yet to speak with someone regarding the charges. They have not returned my messages. (I checked out nine days ago.) When I called the main Starwood line, I was told that my issue will be put in my file but that the hotel will call me back. I have stayed at many different Starwood hotels in the past (W, Sheraton, Westin) and have always had a great experience. I am quite disappointed in the Starwood venture into "Aloft."
